Majesty 250

Post by mjf65 »

Currently looking at a 2002 one with 15k on the clock, pretty good condition private sale, what should it be priced at?

Varies hugely according to condition and seller.
If its a real minter from a dealer with full service history, some warranty plus a year's tax and MoT I reckon about £1500
There's a nice looking 55 plate Sym GTS 250 Voyager on Bike Trader for £875...?

I really would like to stick to Japanese, after 32 years on bikes I've only just plucked up courage to buy a Triumph!

But the Japanese stuff is made all over the place and Sym is one of the companies who build for the Japanese brands.
Not sure but I think the Majesty could be from Spain.
That Sym is very much on a par with any Japanese brand in terms of reliability.
Insurance and parts will be cheaper.
Triumph?
That'll be Thailand then....
But back to the Maj, what is the asking price?

The Maj will have been built by MBK in France, using a Minarelli engine from Italy.

Basically, an 11 year old scoot doesn't any have book value - you are down in the bargain basement here. We are talking in the range of £250-£1000 depending purely on its condition and presentability ....or how good a salesman / how much cheek you have, and whether you find a keen punter!

Iride a Yamaha YP250 1998 and love it to bits. My 250 is carbed and i ride at 110 kph most of the time on open road. Sym 's do look quite a bit like a Yamaha especially the 600 looks like a YP400 Majesty on steriods. Lol.
