i needed a basic rack for my Burger as i carry light ish parcels to work sometimes..so.. short of spending silly money AND I had a spare top box and GIVI plate, decided to make this. used some 30x6mm mild steel, bent at end and drilled and bolted to the cast ally bacj rest with M10's. the cross piece is same material, welded to the 2 pieces..works fine, looks ok with the GIVI plate on it.. i know it wont take a lot of weight but it will serve its purpose and cost me nowt but time..

Re: Burgman 400 DIY rack!
looking good mate, well done.. my original gilera nexus topbox was a quick release version, but being 8 years old, last year i fixed it permanently in place, with 3 bolts to the rack...cant nick it now either he he
I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

You know PD, you'd get a job at Starfleet no trouble! That's exactly how we built the Enterprise, bit's of strip steel, some welding and bolts and stuff, maybe a few washers too! You'd fit in well.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!
