Lyn. PS: i no from the CBR forum some guys are being charged for the valve job..
Yeah...but you can't really 'keep an eye' on the valve clearances without actually checking them, which is the hard part. Or is the adjustment the difficult bit? I know on the Tmax, the hard bit is inspection, because there is quite a lot of dismantling to do to get near the damn things!

On the 500X that i have it would seem to be not a hard job, plastics 3 screws each side and a couple of clips, tank off with 4 bolts i think and a hose clamp.
So only have to stick a feeler between cam and bucket to check,,plus or - a couple of thou will still be within spec i would have thought.

That whats I heard,600 miles,Many years ago when I had my Yamaha fz750 that was 28000 miles, and that was just a check, when I put my Honda sh125i in for its 1st service was told by Doble,s cant toch it for 2 hours..?????????????????? Cos it needs valve adjustment..1st service cost me £110 .Bloody hell, but it has to be serviced every 2500 miles/or every 6 months.
My Fiat panda is Cheaper Just had 3 year service with mot £150.1st year it cost me £50/2nd year was £100.But that wasent at Fiat dealer just an independent Italian car workshop who uses Fiat parts.Hasent done it any harm..
I Think it has gone backwards.Or they just getting more ££££££ .
Old honda sh125.
New Honda sh125.
