A friend went as a foot passenger this week for his 50th birthday, that got us thinking of booking and taking the bikes next year, so a cpl days ago I found 2nd june till the 9th June was available ( only dates I could find ), went to book it today, only dates now are 1st June to 5th June ( where did the 1st pop up from ? ) so booked the ferry quick....
Now trying to book accomodation, what a nightmare, on the phone all day ringing B&B, sorry fully booked and one tells me I wont get anywhere as they wont take 4 night stays, oops
Will ring some more tomorrow, looks like I may have to pay more for an expensive hotel.
Anyone know anyone with rooms available ?

Re: TT 2014
Suggest keep looking on Steam Packet and see if you can amend your ticket to make it full week?

I think you have to find accomodation in people's houses or camp. After all, around 40,000 people visit for the TT but there are only something like 3,000 hotel beds

Re: TT 2014
If you can afford the time off, camp and go for 3 weeks, adding half a week onto the beginning of practice week and the end of race week.
There is stuff to do in that time, and also the pre-TT races in the South of the island.
Thing is, doing it that way you get cheaper ferries and less sardine-esque travelling. Camping is cheap. We went for the TT last year and it was £7 a night on a proper campsite with showers, toilets and good drainage.
NB: It WILL rain! the place isn't green for no reason.
