Newbie with a 2006 Piaggio X8

Post by kenny7677 »

Hi all,

Well sold the sports bike due to lack of use, and picked myself up a 2006 Piaggio X8 125 with 10Klms.
after 3 days ive enjoyed it, only thing i miss is the power...
Anyone got any good tips for increasing performance...

If anyone could point me in the right direction as to servicing needs and parts id be gratefull.
Also looking on line, parts etc seems to depend on whether its a air cooled or liquid cooled model?? Excuse my lack of knowledge, but how do you tell??

Also a mate of a mate has a scorpion exhaust from a Vespa GT 125, anyone know if this fits the X8, as ive also read exhausts are relevent to the air/liquid cooled model.

cheers all

If you have the X8 Street it will be AC (Streets tend to have no chrome).

If AC it will also be missing the radiator and coolant bottle. I think the benefit of AC is that it is simpler and so quite probably more reliable. Sadly, speed is not one of its plus points. The AC version could do with some extra grunt as it only has 10hp whereas the water-cooled version had 15hp, which made it a lot livelier (for a 125...).
