Northern Riders - Anyone else bored?

Post by Gerard C »

If any one fancies a quick meet over the Christmas Hols and the weather is not too bad let me know. If I dont get out somewhere soon I will throw a wobbly. Everytime I could get on the bike the weather has been suicidal. Black Ice on our street and cars everywhere. Any mild days and Ive had to work. Roll on Spring.

Had a local quickie ride out yesterday to keep the battery charged. Probably won't be going out on the Doh!ville until next year now... :(
See you guys in the new year (hopefully).

Seasons greetings and a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all Muppets, Northern Riders and Ugly Bunch especially...

Sorry you haven't been able to get out. Over here the weather hasn't been that bad, i still get out every other day. I was in Southport on Saturday and Glasson Dock via Settle, on Sunday. I seem to keep seeing the same people now, and although only usually me and one or two others (always on bikes) we are becoming a select little group as we are all older riders. Averaging about 200mls per week now instead of the 250+ usually :)

I went to Glasson last Sunday morning for a bacon buttie but the van was shut so went to the loony cafe instead. No one there!

I/we managed a quick ride to S.M.C at Sheffield on Saturday.
Was good to get out on the scoot....and not cold on the ride too.

Tmax9 you must have been there early. The owner was really upset about the electric company digging all her picnic area up, no one there on bikes when i arrived about 2.30pm. One person came before i went he was on a Triumph and we 've met before. It was a grand day really i did 154mls that day really great riding when no one else around, then again i prefer it that way. :) On journeys of less than 50mls i use my Burgman 400 as i just wired an outlet socket under the seat , so i can plug my heated gear in.

I always have a rideout to Southport on New years day. i usually arrive at between 1.30 -2.00pm. I'm not asking for company just saying that's were i will be, unless it is thick with snow, or torrential rain before i set off. it would be a novelty if anyone on a scooter turned up though :)

Yep, still doing the daily 30 mile round trip commute, just used the car 5 days so far due to black ice. Is it sad I know how many days off the bike? If I use the car it means four buses for the missus to work and back and £8 a day so that's another incentive! I ride along sometimes feeling like those old films where they are on the bridge steering the ship with someone off camera throwing buckets of water in their face and think " I must REALLY love riding maxis!" Gerard, would love a chance for a get together work permitting, only have odd days off so give us a shout and we'll see.

Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for the New Year to all muppets!
