i thought mid summer day was 24 june there mid summers eve should be 23 june and longest day is 21 june ,lol nights start drawing in

Your right midsummers eve is the 20th,

but :The longest day in the northern hemisphere is today either the 20th or 21st of June, whilst Midsummer's Day in Europe is traditionally on 24 June.
