Yes it was a trade in so God knows how it was treated by its previous owner. Engine out job and a barrel is goona be the best part of £600...

Should work, in the classic world alloy parts are welded, many Triumph cylinder heads have been brought back into action again. Good luck.

I'd go with the welding Sgt, you can't loose can you! well apart from a head set, if it works move it on
If it don't::: get the new parts and fix..
I used to weld Triumph 2000.2.5 cylinder heads cos they used to burn out between the valve seats, no removable
seats in them so weld up and machine back to standard and flog um in the car mags. thats how i paid
for my first Holiday abroad when i were a lad

if you are really skint...try jb weld...liquid metal...or araldite rapid.... but seriously...i used to have a rm250 mx bike when i was 20...and the water pump cover had been repaired with araldite...... the bike was scraped thru deep ruts, crashed and peppered with stones and jetwashed...and it never leaked once.....

a proper weld is best bet and it shouldnt be too expensive either
